Burgundy Today Tasting Charter
Since 1994, the year Bourgogne Aujourd'hui was created, we have been committed to respecting this tasting charter to allow you to safely purchase wines that meet your expectations and desires.
As a golden rule, all samples are scored out of 100 (from number 182 onwards, out of 20 previously) and tasted blind, always on "neutral" ground, in professional tasting rooms: the Centre Interprofessionnel Technique des Vins de Bourgogne, in Beaune the interprofessional organization of Beaujolais , in Villefranche-sur-Saône, the Cité des Vins, in Mâcon, the branch of the interprofessional organization ( BIVB ), has Chablis the interprofessional organization for wines from Jura (CIVJ), in Arbois…
No ratings are awarded based on tastings conducted at the producers' premises, as is unfortunately all too often the case with other magazines; we believe that such tastings do not allow for completely objective ratings. Therefore, if you do not find certain producers in this database, please be aware that all are invited to submit wines, but some do not, or not always. By asking them the question They will explain to you, depending on the situation, that they: "forgot", "that they don't need it", or "that the tasters of Bourgogne Aujourd'hui are not competent".
Which is completely ridiculous, given that our jury "The tasting panel » comprises a limited number of people, all loyal attendees of our tastings (some since the magazine's inception in 1994), perfect connoisseurs of Burgundy wines, of Beaujolais and also passionate, knowledgeable or professional "amateurs": wine merchants, oenologists, sommeliers... No producer, winemaker or trader participates in our tastings.
